About this part
High Performance RC Micro Rock Crawler Tires
The Upgrade RC Micro Shield 1.0" Class 2 Micro Crawler Tires deliver a balanced blend of scale detail and dependable performance for micro crawler builds. These tires arrive with soft foam inserts and mount directly to 1.0-inch wheels, and the tread layout is engineered to maintain grip across varied terrain, giving small-scale rigs a confident and predictable feel.
About the Micro Shield Tires
Terrain-Focused Tread Design
The Micro Shield tread uses large lugs with deep sipes to maintain traction on rock, dirt, and uneven surfaces. A more widely spaced lug pattern helps the tire maintain consistent contact, supporting stability on rough rock faces and hard-packed soil. This layout gives micro crawlers a controlled, planted feel whether climbing, sidehilling, or navigating technical obstacles.
Enhanced Side Bite & Stability
Alternating side lugs along the tire's profile increase side bite when the tire leans into terrain. This added traction helps the vehicle stay composed during off-camber maneuvers and steep transitions. The design supports predictable handling, making it easier to maintain control in challenging micro crawler environments.
Ready-to-Mount Convenience
Each tire includes a soft foam insert that complements the tread's flexibility and terrain adaptation. The combination of foam and carcass shape ensures a balanced footprint that conforms well to obstacles. With straightforward mounting, these tires offer an easy upgrade path for improved performance.

Another great mini crawler tire from UpGrade RC. I gave these 4 stars because I don't think they're quite as good as the Razor Wires, but they'll still out perform most of the other tires available right now. I haven't had the opportunity to test them in loose soil yet, but they perform very well on rocks. The reason I rate them slightly behind the Razor Wires is that they don't seem to climb certain hills quite as effectively. They are very soft with relatively tall lugs, which provide excellent grip. I suspect they'll perform even better once they have some time to break in.
