Vader Products Redcat Everest GEN7 Skid
About this part
The Vader Products Redcat Everest GEN7 Skid is machined from 1/4" solid Delrin material and is a great high performance upgrade for you GEN7. The skid is cut perfectly flat and does not hang below the chassis rails like the stock skid for increased ground clearance, and the design has been optimized for compatibility with both the stock transmission and the SCX10 transmission. Plus, the transmission positions do not prevent use of the optional upper link mount holes! The link pockets are cut to fit Revo rod ends and pivot balls for improved rod end durability compared to the stock parts.
NOTE:
- Skid requires 4-3/4" front lower links, and 5" rear lower links to get a 12.5" wheelbase.
- Use the 2 inner holes on the side for attaching to chassis.
Features:
- Flat skid does not hang below the chassis rails for increased ground clearance
- Compatible with both the stock transmission and the SCX10 transmission
- Optimized for Revo rod ends
- Precision machined from slippery delrin material

Very nicely made piece. Holes line up perfect. Beautiful machining on the delrin as well.
Bought this from amain for my gen 7. The frame rail side holes do not like up to the ones on the frame. Disappointing after hearing so much hype over this. 2 stars as the material is nice
This skid plate is the best thing you can get for your Redcat Gen7. I have it on mine and can't rave about it enough. First, it corrects the bad gen7 suspension geometry. Second, it allows you to use the stock redcat trans, scx10 trans, or the element stealth X trans. You will need Traxxas Revo rodends #5347 and new links. Upon install you will need to move the skid back (toward rear) one set of holes in the chassis for driveshafts to battery tray clearence. Run this and the Stealth X trans on 12% overdrive and your gen7 is a entirely different truck! Climbing abilities and torque twist are improved.
This skid plate do what they say. Correct the problem of the links, creating the flex they need by moving the lins to the center. You need to grind a little the 1.5 bit, they will not enter right away. You need to reduce the shafts of the 1.5 bit until they can enter. The best part as they say you can use both transmission Gen7 and scx10
Great smooth finish. And machined very well. The hardware is included. And even a decal. Great deal thank you!
Reviewers generally praise the machining quality, smooth finish, Delrin construction and included hardware. Several say the skid corrects suspension geometry on the Gen7 and allows use of alternative transmissions, with one reviewer reporting improved climbing and torque twist. Installation is less straightforward: one reviewer had to grind or trim the 1.5 mm bit shafts to fit, another needed to move the skid one set of holes rearward for driveshaft clearance, and one reviewer found the frame rail holes did not align, giving two stars despite liking the material. Reviews all refer to the Gen7 skid variant.
