Fan works well. No complaints. Direct drop in for XR10 esc.

Mounted this fan on my Hobbywing ESC due to the original fan case cracking. This fan is a MONSTER. Sounds like my T5M is going to take off. Not sure on long term durability will have to report back after using it for a season, but so far so good!

In the 6 weeks I owned this fan I had the sticker come off the fan and get chewed up by the fan blades. This destroyed the fan blades and killed the fan. After this happened I took the fan off and it really highlights how cheap the plastic is on the fan. It’s probably best to stick with Hobbywing fans as this is more expensive and not really any better build quality.

Before installing this fan, verify the polarity. I replace the ESC fan on my Team Orion HMX 10 with this WTF fan. As I was doing so, I noticed that the red/black wires “polarity” was reverse going into the plug. After changing the wires on the plug the fan runs fine.

What reviewers say

Reviewers generally report that the fan runs well and is a direct fit for certain ESCs, with one describing it as very powerful and noisy. Build quality is the main point of disagreement: one reviewer reported the fan was destroyed after six weeks when a sticker detached and was chewed by the blades, and criticised the plastic as cheap, suggesting a Hobbywing fan may be preferable. Another reviewer found the wire polarity reversed on arrival and corrected it at the plug, after which the fan worked. Long-term durability is not yet established, as one reviewer planned to report back after a season.

  • + Runs well with no reported complaints
  • + Direct drop-in fit for an XR10 ESC
  • + Very powerful airflow
  • + Fits a replacement for a cracked original fan
  • − Plastic build quality criticised as cheap
  • − Sticker detached and damaged the blades, killing the fan
  • − Wire polarity may be reversed at the plug
  • − Long-term durability unproven
