I've had a pair of rear and fronts since I got my SCT and they're a great product. The aluminum is as tough as nails and more sturdy/strip resistant than the plastic mountings that come with some kits.
The Xtreme shock tower is made from 3/16" (0.187") AL. The stock slash shock tower is only 4mm (0.157") thick at the mounting location. So this shock tower is basically 0.030" thicker than stock, which means the plastic case isn't fully together when assembled and can let your bearings float a little. I had mine milled down to fit to the stock dimensions, unless you can do that I don't recommend these. Disappointing, you'd think that anyone capable of making a component like this would understand the importance of missing it by 0.030". Once fitted correctly they are a nice addition to the Slash
This DOES NOT WORK without modifying either the thing you just paid $20 for or the standard diff housings. Makes no sense. As someone else states it is too thick, so leaves a gap in the diff cover that will let in dirt and let the diff float around. Unfortunately, I did not read that review till after I tried fitting it in my car.
Got this so that i can convert my slash to buggy. I can mount losi 8ight wing mount and any buggy body post to this shock tower perfectly..
Works great for buggy conversion. Awesome product.
Reviewers generally praise the aluminum construction as strong and more resistant to stripping than the plastic mounts supplied with some Slash kits, and two note it works well for buggy conversions. The main recurring problem is fit: one verified owner measured the tower at about 0.187" thick versus roughly 0.157" stock at the mounting point, which leaves the diff case not fully closed and can let bearings float and dirt in. That owner had to mill the part to fit and does not recommend it unless modified. Another verified owner reported it would not fit without modifying either the tower or the diff housings. Reviews are mixed on fit but consistent on strength and conversion use.

- + Works for buggy conversion
- − Too thick for stock diff housing
- − Requires milling or modification to fit
