Picked one of these up at my LHS to replace the hot-racing fan i had that burned out after 1 use. This fan keeps my motor temps down wicked low. Will be buying another one to replace my esc fan
Yeah Racing products have always been top-quality for me, and this fan is no exception. I bought one fan first (I have a dual-fan setup) just to check it out. Temps were down, so I bought the second one and they work great.
Fantastic Fan. Used this with the Exotek Angled Clamp. The fan is loud but it works very well. I am using this on my Traxxas Rustler 4x4 VXL. Using one 4000mah battery motor temps were pushing 220 degrees fahrenheit with no fan. I originally tried another popular brand but the fan plastic shroud warped causing the fan to get stuck. Anyway this took temps from 220F down to about 155f. haven't measure anything over 160 since. It does seem like it takes a little time off my run because of the extra power drain but I think this might just be in my head. Great fan highly recommended.
Best fan I've ever used. Very loud when on 8.4V. Stack a few of these guys together and put them in a PVC pipe, fall clean up would be a breeze.
MOST FANS U BUY FOR RC ARE JUNK, THIS FAN IS STRONG AND U CAN RESOLDER THE WIRES TO THE FAN IF NEEDED. THE $$ IS ALITTLE MORE BUT I THINK ITS WORTH --- GOOD BUY --- !!!
Reviewers generally rate this 30x30x10mm aluminum cooling fan highly, with most giving five stars. Users report substantial motor temperature reductions, for example from about 220°F to around 155°F on a Traxxas Rustler with a 4000mAh pack. Reliability is praised over several months of use, and the exposed solder tabs allow custom lead replacement. Noise is a recurring point: several reviewers call it loud, particularly at 8.4V, while one describes it as quiet compared with other fans. One reviewer gave two stars, finding it works but moves little air, and disliked the red wire. One reviewer noted a possible small run-time cost from the extra power draw, though they were unsure it was real. Connectors may be needed for receiver use, as the leads are not fitted with plugs.
- + Strong motor temperature reduction
- + Reliable over extended use
- + Exposed tabs allow resoldering leads
- + Better than many RC fans
- − Loud, especially at 8.4V
- − Higher price than typical fans
- − Possible small run-time reduction
- − Moves little air for one reviewer
