I have a couple of these motors. Do a dry break in. Run motor on esc at 1/4 throttle for 3 minutes ,no load.
I am really quite upset about this motor. I get it, its a cheap motor. But after the first one arrived with shattered stator magnets, amain gave me a second for free. After installing the second motor it wouldnt even turn. Took the stator out of the first oneand as I begin a water break-in there wasexcessive sparking from the brushes and an extremely large amount of dust coming out. I dissassemble the motor and it had eaten away over half of the brush. Do Not Buy. Just save your money and buy a better motor.
after wanting to get reverse and a bit more low speed control in my traxxas blast boat, I chose this motor, It really is a easy upgrade and will buy again for my rally cars
Three verified-owner reviews of the Yeah Racing Hackmoto V2 540 Brushed Motor (17T) give mixed views. One reviewer, upgrading a Traxxas Blast boat, found it an easy upgrade that added reverse and better low-speed control, and plans to buy again for rally cars. Another reviewer shared a dry break-in procedure at 1/4 throttle for three minutes with no load. A third reviewer reported a stator with shattered magnets on arrival, a replacement that would not turn, and heavy brush wear with sparking and dust after a water break-in, and advised against buying. The reviews are few and conflict on reliability, so the evidence on durability is limited.
