Is a upgrades you will need. I buy thinking I will not need the other part, and is need to, but I order and is coming in this week. Why you need this upgrades? The dog bones come in the kit will fall if you're racing, in my case I don't have issues with the dog bone, but the cvd will give a much better performance and you will not have issues from popping out the dog bone are plastic and the flex make them go out. For me the dog bone enter with some friction still can pop out if you upgrade to brushless eventually I will do
I purchased these along with the Yeah Racing steel drive cups and they have both been amazing. The parts no longer break (My TT-02 has a 3s brushless system) and they run smoothly. While this part won’t work with the stock part, it works very well with the Yeah Racing parts. As the other review noted, these work stock with the RR model, but the standard TT-02 parts won’t work.
These drive shafts fit perfectly on my Tamiya TT02-RR using the stock drive cups. Nothing else need and installation was a breeze. Remember: mine is a TT02-RR, not sure if other tt02's are the same.
I put these on my BT01 Peugeot 306 rally car-in fwd mode they work awesome!!
Great CV axles, if you run a ton a front shock preload they want to bind on turning, but other than that they are great.
All six reviewers rate these steel universal drive shafts five stars. Reviewers commonly report that they fit well and run smoothly, with durability praised, especially when paired with Yeah Racing steel drive cups. Several note that the shafts are a useful upgrade over plastic dog bones, which can pop out under racing or heavier power. Compatibility is the main point of disagreement: one reviewer says they fit stock drive cups on a TT02-RR, another says they need Yeah Racing cups and do not work with standard TT-02 stock parts, and a third says they work in a BT01 rally car. One reviewer reports binding on turning under heavy front shock preload.
