These belts have the light brown soft coating on the inside to make them "low friction" over time the soft coating wears away - i have another car that came with belts like these and the soft inside coating is at least 50% gone, but it is a cheaper BANDO belt. I've only run this Yokomo belt for a total of about 30 minutes so far and it still looks new. I also have the white set of belts on backorder - the white belts appear to have a different kind (or at least color) of soft coating, curious to see if the white belt lasts longer than this one. anyway, for performance it is very smooth, and cost is great at under 10 bucks. 5 stars
