Pros: Works as advertised. It can be paired with the ReveD servo with little to no issues. I've run my gyro sensor level at 100% on my Yokomo SP-03 D Programmable Brushless Drift Servo with no issues. There are videos online depicting the different setup options. Here is a simple breakdown of the options; Normal Mode - Gyro assist driver Assist mode - Most operates done by gyro Red - Hard Mode (It feels like lane-keeping assist) Green - Soft Mode Cons: The user manual does a poor job of explaining the different options available. Recommendation: I personally use normal mode (Gyro assist driver) and Green led (Soft mode) on polished concrete with little to no issues but I'm no expert.
I have a Rustler which I converted to a Mamba Monster x and then to the Hobbywing Max 8 with 2250 motor which comes with TSM and I like doing speed runs. The problem is that despite the TSM putting on the TSM control still had massive problems with keeping the car straight.I bought this about 4 months ago and just had it sitting and decided to put it on yesterday. This thing is so damn impressive.Once you set it on the assist/hard you literally don't have to anything except go on the throttle and this keeps it ruler straight. It's so odd not having to keep your had on the steering to make fine changes as the car shifts from it's straight line. This thing is definitely worth the money. The Traxxsas TSM supposed to be a similar system but this is on a whole different league from that.
Not too much information/instructions but you could find on YouTube videos I can help you out
Excellent gyro - ability to tune end points and gyro override is worth the extra dollars compared to the 302.
Great gyro and very easy to install and setup! Will be buying again for future drift builds
Reviewers generally report that the Yokomo DP-302 V4 gyro works as advertised and is easy to install and set up, with several saying it keeps rear-wheel-drive cars straight and helps with drifting. Multiple owners run it at high gain, including 100%, without problems, and pair it with various servos and radios such as ReveD, Yokomo and Futaba. Reviewers describe the Normal, Assist and Hard/Soft LED modes as useful. The most common criticism is that the manual explains the setting options poorly, so owners rely on online videos. One reviewer, who replaced a faulty gyro, reported wheel jitter when steering into drifts.
- + Keeps car straight
- + Easy setup and tuning
- + Works at high gain
- + Compatible with multiple servos
- − Poor manual instructions
- − Wheel jitter reported by one owner
- − Relies on online videos for setup
