About this part

Yokomo RD2.0: Novice To Adept Drifting Performance

Yokomo RD2.0 "Rookie Drift" 1/10 RWD Drift Car Kit. Introducing the Yokomo RD2.0 a timeless masterpiece in the world of RC drifting. Born from the legacy of Yokomo, pioneers in this art, the RD2.0 embodies a design essence that prioritizes a seamless and enjoyable driving experience for both novices and seasoned enthusiasts. This machine elevates the drifting journey for beginners by enhancing base specifications, including an improved turning angle and steadfast rear grip. Its thoughtful chassis configuration not only ensures immediate performance but also lays the groundwork for future customization, offering enthusiasts the freedom to personalize their experience with optional parts.

The RD2.0 steering system boasts an increased cutting angle for huge drift angles and control to prevent unwarranted spins. The steering setup features an extended wiper arm and updated Ackermann ratio, delivering robust performance, at extreme cutting angles. The innovative zero trail steering block and optimized steering stopper position ensure honest steering characteristics and increased steering angle.

The 4-gear transmission enhances rear traction during acceleration, sealed for dustproof reliability. A rotatable motor mount allows for precise weight balance adjustments. Standardizing the rear ESC mount considers not only weight distribution but also streamlines motor wiring for sleek looks. The easy access to the differential, facilitated by the rear bulk cap removal, simplifies gear differential tuning and ball differential maintenance. The RD2.0's rear hub carrier maximizes grip by optimizing the dogbone angle, while a redesigned rear suspension mount lowers the gearbox for improved traction. In essence, the Yokomo Rookie Speed RD2.0 is not just a machine; it's an invitation to a timeless drift experience, seamlessly blending innovation, performance, and customization.

Best chassis to start into RC Drift. Can keep up with others highly tuned chassis. Aftermarket support and pieces for this is huge.

Great starter chassis, it was easy and straight forward to put together if you've build a kit before. I wouldn't recommend this as a first build, you might struggled, compared to a Tamiya. But for an experienced builder this will be no problem. I installed some higher end electronics and so far after a quick toe adjustment by my local drift track owner before my first run, I was doing controlled donuts on the first battery pack and having some decent drifts on my next outing. I'm still no expert, but being able to just get out and get trigger time with minimal setup is pretty awesome. Also in a world of RTRs, being able to go old school and pick my own electronics, pick my own wheels and tires and body was nice.

This is a great chassis at a phenomenal price. Simple to build. Simple to install electronics. I'm running a v4 gyro, sp02 servo, and DX1 motor in mine, and I have had to do ZERO tuning since I built it a few months ago.

Very easy to build kit, most upgrade parts for yd chassis transfer over considering the rd is just a renamed yd kit. Worth every penny, can’t wait to drift this after I get the body painted and put together!
