About the RS2.0
Chassis
The Yokomo Rookie Speed RS2.0 1/10 On-Road Competition Electric Touring Car Kit is a perfect entry-level choice for aspiring racers, featuring a high-performance yet budget-friendly design. Its chassis, crafted from durable resin for both the main plate and upper deck, provides a balanced and smooth ride with strong ground contact, ensuring consistent traction. The use of resin also helps to keep the kit lightweight, allowing for better handling and control. The chassis includes a robust aluminum motor mount, designed to accommodate both brushed and brushless motors, giving it excellent heat dissipation and durability. Additionally, the battery holder is versatile enough to fit various battery types, from round Sub-C 6-cell packs to modern LiPo batteries, ensuring flexibility in power source options. For added protection, a large urethane bumper is integrated into the front to shield the vehicle during crashes, maintaining the kit's longevity.
Drivetrain
The drivetrain of the RS2.0 is finely tuned for balanced performance, thanks to its two-belt system featuring equal-length front and rear belts. This setup creates a stable, responsive driving experience with minimal disturbances during throttle inputs, resulting in smoother cornering. Both the front and rear drives utilize gear differentials, with the rear incorporating an oil-filled, sealed differential case. This allows for the tuning of driving characteristics by adjusting the oil viscosity, granting racers the ability to optimize handling for specific track conditions. Universal drive shafts ensure consistent drive efficiency, even when the suspension is engaged or steering at sharp angles, making the RS2.0 remarkably easy to control, even for novice drivers.
Suspension & Shocks
The shocks and suspension system of the RS2.0 is designed to elevate handling performance. The inclusion of short oil-filled shocks, combined with lower shock towers, drastically reduces the vehicle's center of gravity, leading to enhanced stability and improved maneuverability. These shorter shocks provide precise control, and their compatibility with competition-level springs opens up a wide range of tuning possibilities. The double-wishbone suspension on both the front and rear absorbs road surface impacts, delivering a smooth, composed ride. The turnbuckle upper arms and tie rods make it easy to adjust camber and toe-in, offering fine-tuning capabilities for competitive racing. This combination of high-end shock and suspension components ensures the RS2.0 is capable of delivering a competitive edge on the track, with plenty of upgrade potential as skills improve.

This is my first On Road car and it was a breeze to build. Im running jusstock 17.5 and it handles amazing.. No need to buy expensive kits if your a newbie like me, this kit is plenty.
Great kit went together very well. Smooth drivetrain .Great way to get into tc racing.
Just terrible. Could not keep this chassis going straight for nothing. Had protek servos and another brand and nothing worked. Would have everything on servo and transmitter, and a small bump would give the steering an undrivable direction to the left. Had all of the guys at my racing club looking at it, and nobody understood why it couldn't keep a steady straight line. Heard great things about the RS 1.0, So I scooped this one up in a heartbeat. My first and last yokomo
I love this touring car. I have used it for VTA and LMH. I am terrible driver and crash a lot. So far I have not broken anything. I did buy spare parts just in case, as local track does not have any spare parts. It does not come with sway bars, so if you want to add them, you have to upgrade the bulkheads to the aluminum version. I have not needed this upgrade so far. so far has made a great LMH car for me.
Hard to setup, have had alot of trial and error, stock setup needs work and final drive didnt work well In my local class **updated to 5 stars** The car being hard to setup will make you a better driver , definetly a great rookie car that setting up will make you understand changes you make on the car. Great support from yokomo and the social media support for this car is fantastic!
Reviewers generally praise the Yokomo Rookie Speed RS2.0 kit's build experience, with many describing assembly as smooth and the plastic parts as precise. Several note it suits VTA and LMH racing and is a budget option compared with pricier kits. Opinions diverge on suitability for beginners: one reviewer found it fine for newcomers, while another said experience with other cars is advisable. Some describe the car as durable in crashes, though one reported a chassis bowing after 15 months of racing. Setup is described as demanding by one reviewer, who said stock settings need work. One reviewer reported persistent steering drift that they could not resolve with other servos. Sway bars are not included and require aluminum bulkhead upgrades.
