These tires look great if you are building a scale shelf queen, but do not buy these for racing. The traction is ice like and even after sanding tread and soaking, they are still horrible for traction. DO NOT BUY THESE FOR RACING!!!!

Jeffrey Krafton Pro-Line Hoosier G60 SC 2.2/3.0" Dirt Oval SC Mod Tires (2) (M3)

Before I completely bash them, they look absolutely awesome! But I think that these tires are only going to work with a certain compound of dirt because these things make my car like Disney on ice. Before you say that my car is not setup right, it's a Traxxas LCG 2wd that is completely setup like my stock Mudboss 2wd Slash. My mudboss finishes podium every race and its very well hooked up. I can't say you shouldn't buy them but I would definitely ask some fellow racers what kind of tires they run and if they work on your local track. Not sure if running tire prep would help but these just don't hook for me at all. Get more caked with dirt than anything, dirt packs into the tread and they become slicks. I tried a set of my buddies Proline HoleShot tires one night on my car and it was a completely different car and got more hooked up. Hope this helps.

They look great and when you run your fingers across them you really feel the grip they have. Going to try them on my DR10 Drag Car and do some runs on the gravel and dirt.

Ran these on my traxxas slash modified on asphalt oval and the bite was much better than I was getting with the hoosier angle block tires that come on it new. I was really impressed with the traction that I want to try them on a high bite clay track to see if they hold up on the turns on a clay oval track. The wear on the tires was minimal compared to the hoosier angle block.

What reviewers say

Reviewers are divided on these Hoosier G60 SC dirt oval tires. Two reviewers, one a verified owner on the M4 compound, reported poor traction on dirt, describing ice-like grip even after tread sanding and soaking, and one on the M3 compound said the tires pack with dirt and gave no bite on a Traxxas LCG 2WD. A 5/5 reviewer on the M4 compound found strong bite and low wear on asphalt compared with stock angle-block tires, and wanted to test them on clay. Another 5/5 reviewer on the M3 compound praised the grip by feel, with plans to test on gravel and dirt. Reviews mention both the M3 and M4 variants, and results appear to depend on track surface and compound.

  • + Strong bite on asphalt
  • + Low tire wear compared with stock tires
  • + Good grip feel by hand
  • − Poor traction on dirt for some owners
  • − Dirt packs into the tread
  • − Performance seems surface and compound dependent
