Haven't used it yet, but I've never had a problem with Robinsons hardened steel gears. These things last a long time, especially with a plastic spur gear

pretty good just need to be a bit wider and a better grub screw

PeakkiVerified owneron Robinson Racing Extra Hard Steel Mod1 Pinion Gear w/5mm Bore (17T)

Otherwise seems good, but for Hobbywing G2 1900kV motor this pinion hole size is too big. Had Ruddog pinion with the same issue. Arrowmax are tight enough

Great hardened gear! It runs well in my Maxx V2. It is slightly thinner than the stock.

What reviewers say

Reviewers generally rate these hardened steel Mod1 pinions highly for build quality, strength and gear cutting, with several saying they run well and last a long time, especially alongside plastic spur gears. Recurring criticisms concern the grub screw, which one reviewer found smaller than other brands, and one reviewer's experience that the 5mm bore was too large for a Hobbywing G2 1900kV motor. Another reviewer felt the gear is slightly thinner than stock and would like it wider. One reviewer preferred Tekno pinions overall. Some reviews cover different tooth counts, and one reviewer had not yet used the gear. Overall sentiment is positive, with a small number of fit-related concerns.

  • + Good build and gear cutting
