I installed this 12t pinion on a Mini-b with a Hobbywing 2030 7,800kv and 5200kv motor. On both motors this pinion gear was so out of balance, it shook the car. On a closer inspection, the bore of the pinion gear is oversized compared to the 18t pinion that came with the car and the 15t Losi pinion that I bought. I wanted to lower the temps on the motor but I'll stay with the 15t and buy a new motor when it burns up.
Does not fit shaft mini t 2.0 way lose compared to stock bore
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to use this pinion gear. Either the lock screw threads or gear threads were stripped.
Actually has 2mm bore not 2.3mm Fit the Hobbywing Quicrun 2435 shaft perfectly. Amain came through and sent this out as a replacement for a Losi Mini-LMT pinion listed as 2mm but is actually 2.3mm. Thank you Amain for the replacement!
Four verified-owner reviews of this 2mm-bore hardened steel mini pinion, across 12T, 13T and 19T variants, give mixed results. One reviewer found the 12T pinion unbalanced on a Mini-B with Hobbywing motors and reported an oversized bore compared with the stock pinion. Another said the 19T did not fit a Mini T 2.0 shaft and was looser than the stock bore. A third reviewer (13T) reported a true 2mm bore that fit a Hobbywing Quicrun 2435 shaft, after receiving a replacement from the seller for a mislabelled pinion. A fourth reviewer (19T) said the lock screw or gear threads were stripped and the pinion could not be used. Bore accuracy and fit are the recurring concerns; the sample is small and spans different variants.
- + Fit a Hobbywing Quicrun 2435 shaft well (13T review)
- + Seller provided a replacement after a mislabelled pinion
- − Bore sizing inconsistent; some shafts too loose or oversized
- − Reported imbalance causing vibration (12T)
- − Stripped lock screw or gear threads on arrival (19T)
