Upgraded my Yeti Jr to brushless and needed a new pinion for the different size motor shaft. Tried out the the 15T and the wheel speed was a little too high so I bumped down to a 12T. I always trust Robinson Racing to make high quality parts.
I've always relied on Robinson Racing to make the best high strength pinion and spur gears and this is no exception. Fit and meshed nicely. Now I just wish they made a spur gear for the Yeti Jr. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that anyone does but the stock plastic Axial one. Needed a new pinion gear when I upgraded to brushless because of a different size motor shaft. I've never had any issues with Robinson Racing parts in the past so it was an easy decision.
Works great on my Kyosho Fazer. Ran a couple 3s packs through it with no obvious sighns of wear. The Nickel plating is holding up nicely. Should hold up pretty well when used with a plastic spur gear. I do wish A-main stocked these in the hardened steel version from Robinson though.
garbage the gears dont last. to soft of metal.garbage
i had this pinion on my rustler 2wd vxl on the store motor mesh was set perfectly and i went up a road 20ft and the pinion was gone chewed to pieces i went slow didn't exceed 20mph.
Reviewers generally rate this 48P steel pinion (3.17mm bore) highly, with several praising fit, mesh, and finish, and noting they have had good experiences with the brand previously. Variants reviewed include 12T, 15T, 23T, 28T and 35T. Owners of Yeti Jr and Kyosho Fazer models report good results, and one notes the nickel plating holding up after several packs. Two reviewers report poor durability: one says the gear was soft and did not last, and another reports the pinion chewed apart within a short run on a Rustler 2WD VXL at modest speed despite proper mesh. Reviews are few and the durability reports conflict with the positive ones, so overall longevity is uncertain.
