Works as its meant to on my rusty. No deformation or shape issues with this particular pinion. Only issue is the set screw sticks out a fair bit, and yes i am making sure it is lined up with the flat spot on the motor shaft.
Good quality, cheap, and fits perfectly on the 12t Traxxas motor and 12t Arrma motor. Just use thread locker so the screw dowes not come out.

The pinion is good and the grub screw has good loctite.
