Used in Kyosho Mad Van VE with upgraded aluminum motor mount which has preset mesh and a Hobbywing Xerun V10 G3 6.5T. It lasted 5 minutes......
These pinion gears strip spur gears in both my cars. I switched to thicker pinion gears and haven't stripped anymore spur gears.
I bought a few of these, in different sizes, and now they strip my spur gears after a couple of runs. I put in a cheaper Yeah racing pinion gear in both my cars and the spur gear doesn't strip. I like Trinity's motors but these pinion gears aren't worth it.
These are lightweight, and strong. Have yet to have one strip out. Great product !
this is the lightest and thinnest pinion i used and it made the buggy really quiet and seems smoother.
Reviewers broadly praise the Trinity 48P aluminum pinion for being very light, thin and quiet, with several noting smooth running and true rotation. Ratings are split: five reviews rate it 5/5 and three rate it 1/5. The low ratings all report spur gear stripping, with one reporting a pinion lasting only five minutes in a Kyosho Mad Van VE. One 1/5 reviewer says the pinion lasted only minutes in a motor setup, while another says switching to thicker pinions stopped the stripping. The positive reviews mention strength and no stripping, but these reports come from different tooth counts, and the reviews do not establish which sizes or setups are most affected. Two 5/5 reviews appear to be identical text.
